When you talk about a mystery movie, I must say Gone Girl is one of my favorites. It is unexpected, confusing and it can make your head spin with a little bit of thriller spice. The story brings us to a point of view of a man and of his unpredictable wife that has been missing from their 5th wedding anniversary. They met at a party, and he propose to her at that very moment. They seem happy and perfect. Nothing could ever go wrong. But it’s marriage. I don’t want to be “Ms. Know-it-all” because I haven’t experienced it by myself, but as far as I know, everything could go wrong at a marriage.

I apologize for those who read this and haven’t watch the movie, you might want to stop here because there will be some spoilers hereafter.

Let me talk about Amy Dunne. Her life is perfect. She is perfect. Everybody loves her, yet nobody knows her. I actually wasn’t expecting her behavior that lies behind that pretty smile. Well, you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover but, who could’ve guessed that she would do such horrible things, I mean, just for satisfaction? She is enjoying the pressure her husband is experiencing after arranging her own death, not to mention she also gave out clues that implies that he was guilty. Not satisfied enough, she murdered Desi and improvised, I assume just to torture Nick for the rest of his life knowing he doesn’t have much of a choice. Well, he doesn’t have a choice at all.

I admire Rosamund Pike acting on this one though. She really does know who she is playing. She even got an Oscar nominee for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role, and I think she deserves it. I mean let’s take a moment and appreciate this facial expression.

The movie freaks me out again about married life, and I’m becoming scared to get married more and more. I mean the cheating, the money crisis, the violence, the arguments, the psychopath partner that looks nice at the first place, and everything. Like I said, everything could go wrong, and the movie reminds me once again.

David Fincher left us hanging after two and a half hours, wondering what will happen next with this unpredictable beautiful psychopath and her unlucky husband. I’m not defending Nick or whatever, his love has just faded and that’s normal. I’m not saying what he’s done isn’t wrong, but I just feel bad for him. Will Nick find a way to escape? Or will he spend the rest of his life with her. I think our only answer is to question mark at Nick Dunne’s face at the end of the movie.
